Add a simple no brainer crop layer feature please.

Can you tell us which application you are using and why the existing functionalities for cropping in that application are not “simple no brainer” crops?

Can you do that?

If so - I'd like to know how it's done. 

Your change document doesn't crop... it resizes & distorts unevenly

Should be a 'crop layer' with handles to RESIZE the layer without distortion.

And hold down the SHIFT to crop symmetrically w/o distortion.

Also needed is a SAVE OPTIMIZED where you adjust the quality, bit size of the image before export

Technically, what that video tutorial shows is the photo being clipped to the shape rather than being cropped/masked by it. To do the latter, drag the shape in the Layers panel and drop it onto the thumbnail of the photo.
