sboerner Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Affinity newb here. Searching for this command, which is mentioned in the help file. It is not in the Swatches panel's drop-down ("hamburger") menu. Am I looking in the wrong place? Windows 10, Affinity Publisher V2 2.62. Quote
GarryP Posted May 2 Posted May 2 It’s not very obvious but it can be found where I show it in my attached image. Quote
carl123 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 If you select any object on the canvas (e.g. A rectangle) and right-click it, you get more options for adding colours to swatches Old Bruce 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. sboerner Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 GarryP -- Thank you, this was making me crazy. Seems the documentation needs updating. Carl123 -- Same. This is a good tip but does not work with type (which is where I live most of the time). The color picker seems to work fine for that, though. Quote

Tip: if you are new to Affinity, go to Settings (may be called Preferences depending on the OS version), select the User Interface item on the right, & set the tooltip delay almost all the way to the left, so tooltips appear almost immediately if you hover the pointer over an unfamiliar item. A restart will be required. Also, in the Swatches panel help topic this button is shown in the picture of the UI & labeled as item K. The caption is small & easy to miss but it does identify what item K is. I've been using Publisher for a few weeks now (professional user of Quark XPress and InDesign for many years) and am very impressed. The transition has been smooth and not frustrating at all. Beautiful interface and, once you get the hang of it, intuitive. This is the first speed bump I've encountered, and it is completely due to me not carefully reading the documentation. Good tip on reducing the tooltip delay. I'll do that. Wonderful to see such an active and helpful online community. I'll be back. Quote
