Feature Request Patch Tool: Disable selection lasso when an area is already selected

I use a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro (2.5k) drawing screen for my photography retouching process.

The pen tablet behaves

When using the patch tool, I'm often doing this:

1. Select a small area with the patch tool selection
2. Tap on another area to patch in

Using my pen with step 2, I frequently end up re-selecting an area to patch instead of performing the patch because unlike mouse movement, my pen ends up possibly moving a pixel or two in the time my pen hits the screen and lifts up.

In Photoshop, this is not an issue because the patch tool doesn't allow re-selects when a selection area is already active.

Is it possible to get a patch tool option that disables the re-selecting when you have an active selection area?

Thinking about this again, a more intuitive implementation would be:

1. Use patch tool to lasso select
2. Patch tool lasso selection is disabled because selection is active
3. User applies a patch
4. Patch tool lasso selection is now enabled again
