MarionAl Posted May 2 Posted May 2 G'day We are using Publisher2, version 2.6.2. No problems at all - BUT we are unable to open Photo2 from the Publisher-Desktop. It works easily with Designer2 but the logo og Photo 2 is kind of grey and when we click on we get the information "Photo2 is not installed". But it definitely is as we can easily open Photo 2 direct from the computer desktop. (Without opening Publisher before.) What went wrong? Any idea? Thanks Marion Quote
GarryP Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Welcome to the forums @MarionAl The version numbers, and installation type, of the applications need to be the same for StudioLink to work. For example, StudioLink in Publisher 2.6.2 can use Designer 2.6.2, and Photo 2.6.2, but StudioLink in Publisher 2.6.1 will not work with either Designer 2.6.2 or Photo 2.6.0. (Those are just example version numbers, not an exhaustive list of possibilities.) The applications also need to have been installed in the same way. For example, StudioLink in Publisher installed via MSIX can use Designer and Photo which were installed via MSIX, but StudioLink in Publisher installed via MSIX will not work with Designer or Photo installed via MSI/EXE. (Again, those are just examples, not an exhaustive list of possibilities.) Quote
M.Wondi Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Hi! I found a solution that helped me! I had the exact same problem: Publisher, Designer and Photo are all on Version 2.6.2.3228 and don't find any updates if searched for. Still, the connection between Designer and Publisher works (in both directions) but the connection between Photo and Publisher/ Designer does NOT work. I got the same prompt to buy Photo as Marion. Solution: A while ago Photo just stopped to update within the program itself but instead linked me to download the newest version from the Serif website. Propably at this point the different programs stopped connecting to each other. Now I downloaded Publisher directly from the Serif website as well and installed it. It is version 2.6.2 as well. I have to versions of publisher now that are indistiguishable from each other, exept the one from the Serif website connects to Photo, the other one not. [Of course the not connecting version came from the Serif website at some point as well. Just as an older version that was graduatly updated over years...] Edit: the versions that are freshly downloaded are all around 1,3GB in size when installed, the "old" versions more like 120MB Maybe this helpes others as well. Greetings! Edited May 9 by M.Wondi Quote

Hi @M.Wondi Welcome to the forum; The problems are probably because you originally installed the MSIX version but then downloaded MSI/EXE updates. For StudioLink to work all the apps need to be the same type, either MSIX or MSI/EXE.
