Just a little query regarding the offset of the Context Bar when Selecting text with the Move (V)Tool.

I have 2x 22" monitors (So plenty of space1)

However I did notice that ' Convert to Curves' option gets flowed off the context menu....leaving a large blank gap at the end of the 4 icons ending in 'Tranform separately'. Looks like the Convert to Curves option is slightly too long for the available space.

As it has a high order of importance..or used a lot!  surely it would be better re-positioned so that it is not flowed out of view OR the wording truncated to compensate for the available space....

Also if you switch to the Node Tool there is almost half a screen of space....and yet Convert to Curves with this tool selected is not on the toolbar!

Just thought Id ask!😀

Same as me on my 23" monitors and I don't have that problem

So, I assume you have your display scaling set to above 100%?

EDIT: It occurs for me also, when I have a Text Frame selected

I will pop around and use your PC
It is set at 100%

it isn't a major issue....I can use the keys or right click menu....but thought it was a bit odd!....that something that is  probably used a lot flows off... as its almost at the end of the context bar ...but also takes up quite a lot of space with a lengthy attached label

With an FHD monitor (1920x1080) you should be able to see the “Convert to Curves” button on the Context Toolbar when the Move Tool is selected – see attached image where there is plenty of space.

Can you give us a full-screen (the whole screen from extreme top-left to extreme bottom-right) screenshot so we can see all that you can see?

If you take the screenshot, open it in Designer, and look in Document Setup you should see the dimensions of the image, and therefore, of the screen. If it’s not 1920x1080 then you are not using that screen resolution.

@StuartRc has a Frame Text Box selected rather than a Rectangle... On a 1920 x 1080 screen, the Vertical Align Text icon in the context toolbar is enough to throw Convert to Curves into the Overflow menu...

With Artistic Text selected, Convert to Curves appears because there is no Vertical Align Text icon.

@StuartRc: I'm curious why you reported a 2.6.2 issue in the beta forum when 2.6.3 is the current beta. Wouldn't this have been better in the normal (non-beta) section of the forum?

Yeah sorry!..🤥 must be dementia!.....
It was just that I was working in 2.6.2 at the time...I checked this morning. It does occur in the latest Beta..you are correct...
was not sure whether it was a bug or just a querk of the Ui...but on reflection it does seem to be a small imperfection....

Thanks for the image.

Ah, I see you have a Frame Text layer selected. (I now see that you said you were “Selecting text” in your original post, but I didn’t see that earlier, or didn’t understand how important it was.)

I see the same thing as you in the same circumstances, however, you say…

There's nothing us users can do about the Context Toolbar and I don't know how much Serif can do about it.

yeah thats why I just registered it as a query rather than bug....I wasn't expecting so much attention to it!😀

It’s often not easy to guess the amount of interest there might be in a question before you post it.

I’m pretty sure that there are some existing requests for user-configurable Context Toolbars.

Side Question: Is there a reason why your screenshot was posted as a JFIF image which the Affinity applications can’t open, rather than a format which can be opened? (Or was that the ‘doing’ of the forum software?)

I just grabbed it off the Windows Snipping Tool

Strange.

I’ve just checked using Firefox and your image downloads as a JPG, so maybe it’s just my Chrome browser that is doing something odd (hopefully temporary).

Can you try downloading your own image, on various browsers if possible, and see what you get?

Thanks for checking.

Now I’ve got to try and figure out what’s gone wrong, if anything, with my set-up. (I’d never heard of a JFIF before today.)
