The iPad version of Affinity is plagued by so many UI issues that it has become painful to use.

  1. curves adjustment on alpha, no nodes visible
  2. transform panel, arrange and distribute get reversed when switching tools
  3. rendering stops working after some time, requiring restart of app
  4. far too frequent crashes without clear trigger
  5. histogram stops updating after short time of usage (both in adjustment layers and histogram)
  6. Vector scope deformed, not a circle
  7. moving iPad causes HSL to no longer work
  8. The feature gap continues with every release, new features often not available on iPad, e.g. move/enter, quick grid, persistent settings for tools like „current and below“ for inpainting or patch tool
  9. tools like selection brush parameters reset for every use.
  10. missing parameters like gradient angle in layer FX
  11. Missing menu commands for important UI actions (bound to keyboard only) like moving layers top/bottom/nest/unnest

missing core functions:

  • FFT denoise
  • tint in color panel
  • packages for publisher
  • Create and editing PT filters
  • macro recording

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Even now it may not be immediately obvious to which ‘other post’ you refer, and hours or days later it will be very hard to track down. Please use the ellipsis (‘…’) dropdown menu at the top right-hand corner of the post in question to access the ‘Share’ option so that you can copy a direct link.

I think you’re referring to the following post (and your reply to it):

Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

My main problem is with Photo 2, I’m limited to creating a new file at 400dpi…I can open preexisting files that are larger, but I can’t create new ones that are larger than 400dpi which is weird, because the original version of Affinity Photo, I could create larger dpi files. I mentioned it to them way back when Photo 2 initially came out and they said it would be addressed, but it hasn’t been the case.

If I go into Resize Document, I can set the DPI to pretty much anything. Ignored the slider and enter the size directly.

I set it to 800 here just for trial.IMG_1252.thumb.png.ef191ae2fc5e7ec7f557ff8599addeb0.png
