Megalith_6174 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Hi, I'm experiencing an issue in Affinity Publisher where copying and pasting text causes unexpected changes to the font and paragraph styling. Specifically, when I paste text into an existing text frame, the formatting often resets or doesn't match the surrounding content — even when I use the “Paste Without Formatting” option. I have created a character style (FS Text Body Style) and paragraph style (FA Paragraph Style) I’ve checked for style overrides and inconsistencies, but the issue persists. To help illustrate the problem, I’ve attached the Publisher file where this is occurring. Could you please advise on how to preserve the original paragraph and character styles when pasting, or suggest a recommended workflow to avoid this formatting shift? Thanks in advance for your help. 2504_architecture proposal.afpub Quote

MikeTO Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Hi @Megalith_6174 and welcome to the forums. The frame on page 5 has content scaling applied - click in the frame and you'll see a solid blue Content Scaling handle at its bottom right corner. You must have accidentally dragged this at some point instead of the regular size handle above it. Double-click the Content Scaling handle to return the frame to 100% scaling. This will cause the text to become huge but just reapply the paragraph styles to correct it. Megalith_6174 Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 Amazing that worked! thank you so much it has been bugging me for a long time. also, just quickly, how do i get my text when in a bullet point to indent to align with the text above? I thought i had it but it was doing the same to my normal paragraph text. Quote
MikeTO Posted April 30 Posted April 30 In Paragraph > Spacing, set Left Indent to the desired value. In Paragraph > Bullets & Numbering, set Tab Stop to the same value as Left Indent.
