JHMG Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I haven't used InDesign in a few years, but I seem to recall if you had auto-fit turned on for a frame it would rotate your image to the frame's orientation before auto-fitting it. My use-case is a greeting card template that can be used for both portrait and landscape cards: When I paste a portrait-oriented image, I'd like Publisher to auto-rotate it and then auto-fit. It might get the rotation 180 degrees off, but it's one quick operation to put it right. As it is now, you need to have it set to "Scale to minimum fit" (as seen in the image), rotate manually, then change the property to "Scale to maximum fit". If this isn't already an option, please consider this a feature suggestion. I'd record a macro to do this, but can't seem to find the Macros panel anywhere. Google says it's in the left Studio, but that answer seems to apply to Photo. At any rate I'm not seeing it anywhere in Publisher. Does Publisher have macro support? Quote

If you don't have the Macro/Library Panels showing, you can enable them from the Window Menu. I think you don't need the first step "Scale to Min Fit", you can just rotate + set "Scale to Max Fit". Alternatively you could use two Picture Frame versions: One for landscape images, the other rotated and for portrait images (rotated as landscape). If the Picture Frame is rotated then also an image gets placed rotated inside this frame.
