Kobald Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I just bought a new Mac Mini with M4 and the Apple salesman advised me to redownload the programs instead of transferring them through the migration program. Now how do I redownload my AffinitySuite (Design, Photo and Publisher), what should I do? Kind regards, Karl Quote
Ldina Posted April 26 Posted April 26 @Kobald I used Apple's built in Migration Assistant and transferred ALL my apps and data from a 2017 Intel MacBook Pro to my new M4 MacBook Pro. Worked great with no issues. If you want a fresh install, and if you bought directly from Affinity, you just need to login to your account and re-download the latest Affinity apps. Kobald Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Yes, that's what I thought at first, but the Apple salesman said everything will be transferred even if there are bugs in programs and other changes caused by viruses. But now how do I transfer the albums in the Photos app to the new app in MacOS 15? You can use the Migration Assistant to select the parts you want to transfer, or it will automatically do all or nothing. Quote

Ldina Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Sorry, I can't answer that. I transferred everything using Migration Assistant. No issues for me. Macs are generally pretty safe from viruses. Komatös Posted April 26 Posted April 26 @Kobald If you have a time machine backup you should be able to transfer from there with the Migration Assisant.
