Steve71 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Now using Affinity 2 (2.6.2). Is it possible to also use Topaz Photo AI for noise reduction? Quote
Komatös Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Hello @Steve71 and welcome to the forums. As far as I know, Topaz Photo AI and all other Topaz products only support Photoshop, officially. You can of course try to integrate the plugins into Affinity Photo, but I doubt that this will result in a working pair. AfBill Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) Hi @Steve71 Yes you can use Topaz with Affinity photo V2 as a plug in. I have used both installers (MSIX default and then changed to EXE) and it works for both. Following normal instructions navigate to "Photoshop plugins" and check the "allow unknown" as below It should find the plugin Now when you desire to use the plugin from Affinity please remember a Pixel layer must be selected and it will be under the Filters tab at the bottom under plugins. note it will be grayed out unless a pixel layer is selected. In my work flow, I develop using RAW layer embedded so I made a macro to duplicate the layer and rasterize it. I have discovered I can revisit the develop persona using this method and preserve the settings for changes if I wish. Final comments - I have found as my knowledge of Affinity improves and my use of de-noise and sharpening tools within Affinity, I use Topaz much less. I have still recently renewed Topaz to keep it in the toolbox. It can be handy to get a better result on a poor quality photo (just my experience) however its an expensive option. I hope this helps - post back if any questions arise - Bill Edited April 27 by AfBill Quote
