Gnobelix Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I get the following error message more frequently since the new photo beta. A problem occurred when starting the app. The other apps are not accessible Make sure the app is up-to-date, and your firewall is not blocking your LAN connection. This message only displays the beta version, no bug report is created. PetervL Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I had a similar problem, Norton 360 was blocking it for a little while. After that it started up without a hitch. Quote
Staff EmT Posted May 14 Staff Posted May 14 Hi @Gnobelix Is this issue still occurring? Have you checked to see if the app is being blocked by your firewall? Quote Contact Support | List of V2 FAQ's | Affinity Online Help | Affinity Video Tutorials | Beta Software Forums | Bug Reporting Guidance
PetervL Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Still happening, only for about 20 sec. Thereafter Norton firewall will pass the Setup file (MSI/EXE) Quote
Gnobelix Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 Hello @EmT, Yes, the problem persists, but not every time you start. The firewall doesn't block Affinity apps. Staff EmT Posted May 15 Staff Posted May 15 @Gnobelix Do you have the other Affinity beta apps installed? Are they all using the same build? This should show on the splash screen when the app is loading and in the Account panel in-app Quote Contact Support | List of V2 FAQ's | Affinity Online Help | Affinity Video Tutorials | Beta Software Forums | Bug Reporting Guidance

Staff EmT Posted May 15 Staff Posted May 15 Hi @PetervL I thought your issue was due to Norton 360? What I can say is that I keep Norton very well updated and does not give me any trouble with other software. It is like it is searching to recognize and validate Affinity Photo. Never had this with earlier versions of Affinity. Quote
PaulEC Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I don't know if this is related, but FWIW when I installed the 2.6.3 updates (MSI/EXE) Norton 360 wouldn't let me install them at first, it did some checks, then I had to tell it to allow the installs. I've never had this happen before, and I don't know if it's down to an update of Norton, or something different in these Affinity updates to previous ones. I also got a warning from Norton when I first opened a file in APhoto, but it only happened that first time and has been OK since. Gnobelix Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 Hello @EmT, Yes, I have all three apps installed, and they have the same build (2.6.3.3322). In the customer version, this message has not popped up so far. (2.6.3.3322). I should mention that I installed the MSI/EXE(x64) Cheers Quote Affinity Photo 2.6: Affinity Photo 1.10.6: Affinity Designer 2.6: Affinity Designer 1.10.6: Affinity Publisher 2.6: Affinity Publisher 1.10.6: Windows 11 Pro (Version 24H2 Build (26100.3915)
