Hello all

It's a bit a similar problem like I had last year

Now I have a file that I imported from .idml just now, and the catalog page I used was created from scratch again. To reproduce the new problem:

1. Open GM-78_test (attached)

2. move the two catalog pages to the start of the file

3. It looks as shitty as this:

image.thumb.png.8200bd61b31a6a6cd7b95279bf071bc8.png

and it's not even just twice as big as it should be, it's enlarged by a factor of 4.16666.

N.B. I would actually like to upload the original files (first 3 pages of the book and then the catalog pages seperately), but the forum doesn't let me upload the catalog pages ...

Hi @Simon Scheiwiller,

If you zip all the files it should let you upload the zip file, i.e., the original files…

Hi @Simon Scheiwiller,

It's a slightly odd one, but definitely a scaling issue bug...

When moving the two catalogue pages (Pages 19 and 20) together before page 1 the text on the cover is scaled and the scaling correlates to Publisher interpreting the original IDML file at 72 dpi because the cover text is all scaled up at 316.67%, i.e., ((300 - 72) / 72) x 100 = 316.67% despite your document being 600 dpi.

However, moving the catalogue pages as a facing page spread (by deleting page 18 or adding a blank page after page 18) doesn't result in the cover text scaling...

The cover page text is itself scaled, indicated by the solid blue scale handles at the bottom right of each text frame, but resetting the cover page text so it is unscaled and reformatted accordingly doesn't prevent the issue when moving the catalogue pages when they are non-facing at the time of selection.

Equally, moving the catalogue pages after page 1 and then moving the cover page after the catalogue pages doesn't impact the cover page text size.

The workaround for now, at least, would be to use one of these two methods, i.e.,

  1. Move the two catalogue pages so they appear after the cover page, then move the cover page so it appears after the catalogue pages
  2. Delete page 18 (or add a single page after page 18), select the two catalogue pages as a spread and move them directly before the cover page

Hi @Simon Scheiwiller,

That's really good to hear...

Absolutely, it shouldn't be like that... This should get logged by someone in the Serif moderation team, and hopefully, we'll see a quick fix in a future release...
