derschiestel Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Hello -- here is a mystery that I can't figure out. Two text boxes with exactly the same formatted text. Nevertheless, the text is displayed in different sizes. Which information should I be able to trust? Does anyone know this phenomenon? How can this be fixed? Thank you for your feedback. Oufti Posted April 24 Posted April 24 If you had posted a full screen capture, we could be sure… Anyway I suspect the text frame has been resized with the external handle (on the right bottom). If this handle is blue, double-click on it (to give it back its original size) and then reapply text style or formatting. derschiestel Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Hello Oufti -- many thanks for the quick reply ... I checked your suggestion, but found that the thesis was not correct. If I duplicate text box 2 and resize it using the corner handles, the numerical display of the font size changes as well. This is fine and correct. My problem with the second text box is that the display does NOT change and is identical to the first box. Consequently, I have no correct feedback as to which font size I am actually using. This is unsettling. Thanks for another idea. Bernhard Translated with DeepL.com (free version) Quote
carl123 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 In the 3rd screenshot of your original post should "hochgestellt" be selected there? GarryP Posted April 25 Posted April 25 derschiestel: Maybe a long shot, but when you have selected the small text, go to the Character Panel and check the Position & Transform section for the Horizontal Scale and Vertical Scale settings. Are they both 100%? See attached image where both Text Frames contain 40pt text but the text on the left is smaller because of the scaling settings. If that’s not the problem, select the larger text and see if the scaling is set to more than 100%. Quote
derschiestel Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Hello Mr Carl Eagle Eye ... Actually, this was the problem I had overlooked this setting "hochgestellt" and expected, that a smaller font corresponds with the numeric display. So now I know what I need to pay close attention to... Many thanks and best regards Bernhard Oufti 1 Quote
derschiestel Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Hello GarryP -- your info wasn't the cause of the problem in this particular case, but thanks for letting me know about this other possibility of something misrepresenting itself. Will now add to the checklist. Best regards Bernhard GarryP 1 Quote
