influxx Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Think it would be a real time saver for reusing common elements by having an Import Content from Document function. The only app I own that does something similar is Cubase. I can import tracks from other projects (Cubase is a DAW). When calling the function a dialog box should pop up to allow us to select which content to import (pages/artboards makes the most sense I guess). So you colud choose to import page/artboard 3,6 and 7 from a 10 page/artboard document. With options for font handling, updating links to symbols, placed files etc) Currently I open a doc, copy each page one at a time, and paste into the new doc. Bit of a slog. Unless I'm missing a way to do this currently I think this would be a great timesaver. Quote Mac OSX Catalina - Affinity Designer | Photo | Publisher - V2.6 Pixel-pusher since 1995. Thats cool. So a precedent exists in Affinity. Sadly I use Publisher the least. I would love for a similar feature to exist in Designer at least. Such a time saver and quite elegantly developed. Took a minute to figure out how they differ from AI but I love how they work. Why not have that functionality in Publisher too. Again, a precedent has been set so a code base exists. It should not be that hard to shoe-horn the feature into each app (he says not knowing how to program a huge app). Publisher uses aspects of the Symbol functionality to implement Master Pages, and having Master Pages and Symbols together proved challenging for the Developers, I think. So they removed Symbols from the Publisher Persona. But they're still available in the Designer Persona for users who have both applications, which makes them usable in Publisher documents. influxx and Oufti 2 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
