Hi all, I’m using Affinity Publisher on my iPad. I’ve been using a font I downloaded on dafont.com and in the majority of my document of half-letter pages, I’ve been using size 13pt font. I switch documents for a sec and come back, and all of a sudden the same font size as previous used is suddenly VERY much smaller, and it does not have to do with scaling I’m sure. No matter what text box - text frame, table, artistic text, etc the font is suddenly much smaller and I can’t get it to remedy itself.

Image 0133 has my primary text highlighted as size 13 pt font.
Image 0134 has my new text highlighted as size 14 pt but is obviously much smaller.

Welcome to the Affinity forums, @BlackberryRoan.

Please let us see a screenshot with the complete text frame that has the error. With half of it off-screen as it is, there's critical information missing.

I don’t know what could be missing that’s critical but sure ig.

I had fidgeted with it because it is a project I’m actively working on, so I had switched it from a single cell table to a text frame but the same behavior is still happening.

Sorry; I wasn't clear enough. We also need to see it with that Text Frame selected.

It was selected? Do you mean not in text entry mode? I don’t understand, I need more information on what exactly it is you need from me.

Thanks, that's perfect. It shows the frame, and the control nodes. And (assuming you're running 2.6 or later) those nodes confirm that you haven't scaled the frame, which would be the most common reason for the difference you've noted.

Next question: were both text frames (the one with the proper 13pt text and the one with the incorrect 14pt text) created in this document, or might one of them have been copied from a document with a different Document DPI, or copied from the Assets panel?

Yes, both were created in this document with no inserted data from any other document. The only thing close to that would have been the moment I switched to another document and then returned back to this one.

Also the singular difference is one was present before the switch to a different doc and the new one (with incorrect sizing) was created after the switch. I have also restarted the app to no avail.

I'm afraid that my only resolution would be to factory reset the app and lose all of my stored presets, settings, and fonts. I'd prefer to keep them if at all possible.

Yes, let's try to avoid a reset of the app; those are never fun.

I realized that you haven't given us a screenshot of the text frame with the 13pt text in it and the control nodes showing. Could you select that frame so the nodes are visible, and show us that to confirm that it hasn't been rescaled, either? And can you confirm that you're running 2.6 or later?

Also, is this a document you could share with us? Or perhaps share at least the part with the issue, if the issue still recreates in that revised document?

Sorry for the late reply. Here’s some additional files.

Apologies for my casual tone but bro what the f-! My fiancé was fidgeting around with it, copied the prior text, pasted it in a new text box, made another new text box, started typing and it was back to normal??? Even going through history and reverting back to before I copied the text, making another new text box and typing was back to normal. Bruh my ipad be hiccuping - it's all fixed.

Thanks for the file.

In it, the smaller text that is 14pt is setup as Superscript, which probably explains the problem you were seeing:

I don't even know how that was possible as I never use superscript, but thank you so much. I'll keep an eye out for that in the future.

You're welcome. Sorry for not thinking of that possibility earlier. Note: There are similar settings under Typography in the Character panel, too, which can also cause problems like that, but usually they'll be more obvious.
