Hi all,

My client noticed some words were missing from her document. I thought I had accidentally cut out some words, but when I reviewed the file, I found that those words are there, but not appearing...I can work around it, but I wanted to know why it happened. Kinda concerning that there may be sentences that are there but don't appear...any insight would be helpful, thanks!

I don't know what's going on but I wonder if there are two text versions involved, one with "/8", the other with "/9". (I'm used to every layer in an Affinity text flow having the same default layer name.)

And just in case: Do you get the same behaviour if you set the master layer "Ch 6" to invisible,... or unpin the graphic temporarily?

I believe /8 and /9 are just the left and right master frames - the layer name is a truncated version of the first characters of the story and the frames are just numbered sequentially.

Is the pinned image inline or floating with text wrap applied? If floating, what are the text wrap settings?

We might need to see this page of the document to figure out what's going on.

Is this auto-numbering a feature of V2 only? – I can't reproduce it in V1, neither with text placed into the text frames directly on the master spread nor if placed on the master text frames on document/layout/actual pages.

Thanks @MikeTO! You were right it had something to do with the pinned image. It's been a minute and I forget what the settings were, but as soon as I unpinned it, my issue was resolved.
