Contour tool glitches around text (Aff.Des.2)

Hello Everyone, 

I am trying to make a contour around text. I made a copy in layers, and when I click the contour tool and drag it out, it glitches, as you can see in the screenshots.  The contour tool works on other shapes, just does this with text. 

Can anyone please help me? It's really bizarre.

There are various known issues with the Contour Tool, and I suspect that this is covered by one of the existing bug reports: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q=contour&type=forums_topic&quick=1&nodes=128&search_and_or=and&sortby=relevancy

You can read some of those reports to see if there is a ‘work-around’ but apart from that there’s nothing much we can do about it.

@GarryP Thanks for your post and link. Argh... looks like it's been an issue for awhile. That sucks. I hope it'll be resolved in an update soon.
