fergust Posted April 21 Posted April 21 HI, I exported a photo to both jpg and png. It shows white dashed lines around the edges when opened in IrfanView or Windows Photos. Both have dark backgrounds. This is more pronounced when I made the image smaller by changing the length on the longer side to 2000 pixels. Affinity Photo v2.6.2 Not sure if I can reproduce it. Not seen before. OS Windows 11 Turned off hardware acceleration. No difference. Tried it in 2.6.0. Same thing happened. jpeg and aphoto files attached. Thanks, Fergus Bremen_Hamburg_242.afphoto Quote
NotMyFault Posted April 21 Posted April 21 The layers are rotated, causing semitransparent edge pixels. Exportes as jpeg can lead to dark or light lines. NotMyFault Posted April 21 Posted April 21 You can avoid or correct this. if the rotation was accidental, unrotate if the rotation is required, do it either as first or last step in edit workflow. Directly after rotating, use merge visible, or rasterize layer. be prepared to cut off fractional pixels at all edges. Affinity requires you to manually take care of layer position, size beeing on full integers. Otherwise you may get visible seam lines Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
