With AP v1, when I exported an image to a JPG or PNG, say, the timestamp on that file reflected the time of the export.

Now, with AP v2, the exported file has a timestamp of when the AFPHOTO file was created/modified.

Is there any way to enforce the earlier behaviour, which is more useful to me? (And if not, could this be added as a new Setting?)

Not sure what you mean by timestamp but on my Mac in Finder views of exports to JPG or PNG from all the V2.6.2 Affinity apps, the date created & date modified times are the current date/time values, not the date/time values of the Affinity native format file -- IOW, as expected, just like in V1.

Maybe "timestamp" refers to the Affinity fields... and has saved or created confused with printed/exported?

BTW, oddly, in V1 the "Date and Time" field can be placed via menu but has no entry in the Fields panel and does not show a time:

Topic title says "Affinity Photo" so I don't think so....

Sorry, I was talking about the timestamp Windows applies to the file when you export an image.

However, I just discovered this morning that Windows had changed the Group By setting in File Explorer from Date Created to Date Taken. I'm still not sure why they would all be the same time, but I've solved the problem anyway.

Thanks!

There are many categories for Date in file explorer that you can configure file explorer to display, including but not limited to...

Date Modified
Date Created
Date Accessed
Date Taken
Date Acquired
Date Imported
Date Archived
Date Completed
Date Last Saved
