In 2.2, you can toggle effects & grayscale mode on or off for your view mode in the navigators panel. My issue is the icons that are being used. Please dont use the current icons. The grayscale icon currently looks like 3 circles. It reminds me of the shape builder tool. Its confusing.

Instead, use a more simple icon of a circle with a stroke outline and the right half filled in with gray. That way I know that half of my view is in grayscale . 

Also, for the hide effects icon, you dont have to put FX inside of a circle. Just leave the "FX" on its own as the icon. It works better that way.  That way users know that the "FX" relates to hiding the effects.
