Best draw egg shape in designer? Is possible warp bitmap to it?

Your first post to this thread simply repeats the topic title. It’s better if you use the original post to supply more detail about exactly what you need help with.

You could simply use an ellipse to represent an egg shape, but eggs are usually narrower at one end than the other. Do you want a flat view of the egg, or do you want it to look as though it’s a curved solid? What kind of bitmap do you want to use?

I have no idea what a 'drag egg' is (male chicken embryo dressed in female embryo clothing? 🤔), but you can definitely create a 3D looking egg in Designer or Photo. Here's one, all done in Designer. The egg was an ellipse, converted to curves, then nodes adjusted with the node tool. Various FX added for form, shadows, etc. The tablecloth and egg texture were bitmap files placed into Designer. The tablecloth was a bitmap fill inside a rectangle shape, using the gradient tool. Then the rectangle layer was warped in the Pixel Persona (Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Perspective)

It just occurred to me what you want (I think). You want to place Easter Egg designs onto an egg shape and warp your colorful design around the egg. If so, here's a helpful video on using the warp tool for this sort of thing.

Here's a quick redo of the previous egg. I added a bitmap fill to a rectangle. Since it was a bitmap, I had to use the Pixel based warp filter in the Pixel Persona, or in Photo. (Designer's Warp feature only works on vectors, not bitmaps). In the Pixel Persona, I chose Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Mesh Warp, and adjusted the nodes to warp the bitmap and simulate something wrapping around the egg. Then, clip that inside the Egg ellipse. FX still show for a 3D look.

If your pattern is all vector based, you can use the vector warp group feature in the Designer Persona.

drag is bet changed by my phone. i feel made few times such oddness. looks too complex archive now at least dont know how found perfect noide points. of course i know there is 3d rending programs but i dont have skills use them even thinked check blender to make textures but not likely soon at all.

The video below shows how to make a quick egg shape. You only need to add the 3D FX (ignore the rest of the video) then select the Gradient Tool and change the Type to bitmap to add your bitmap to the egg

If you prefer not to fix such issues before submitting a post, disabling the phone's autocorrect feature may help to avoid those misunderstandings…

I’m pretty sure that @MxHeppa meant “looks too complex to achieve”.

Creating the basic egg shape in Designer (can be done in Photo too).

@MxHeppa  Attached is a very simple AD v2.6.2 file, with layers intact. It includes the steps to create the egg shape (per my previous post). I then created a simple Easter Egg design (all vectors), so I could use the Quad Warp Group in the Designer Persona (which only works on vectors...not on bitmaps). If you are still interested in trying this, it's not hard once you understand how the layers are created and arranged. Perhaps this simple file will help.

@MattP published an easy method a long time ago: using the ‘Pen Tool’, click on the top point of the future egg, press the ‘Shift’ key and drag to the right, then release the ‘Shift’ key. Then click on the lower point of the egg, press the ‘Shift’ key and drag to the left, a little further than for the right-hand side, release the ‘Shift’ key and click on the upper point of the egg to close the curve.

My memory is playing tricks on me, so I've just checked and I have to give credit where credit is due: It was @MattP who published this tip (first reply at the top of the page):

bitmap not warps its shape what is hardest part of this thing drawing egg is not so hard with other hints. of course technically perfect thing needs 3d modleling what is not Affinity related.

Are you trying to adjust the flat egg shape or the 3D projection?

I wouldn’t expect anything to be slow on a system with an AMD 7 7700X and 64 GB of RAM, but I suppose it’s all relative!
