Lionarith Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Since the last update i get random crashes, no distinct action is causing it, sometimes it occurs directly after starting the app, sometimes while i work (causing me to lose work, the app just disappears, which is devastating) Win 10, Designer 2.6.2 Please help! Edit: added a crash file 2870db3d-e60c-4b6f-a4f3-e1741082b3a5.dmp Edited April 19 by Lionarith I added the crash file Quote
GarryP Posted April 19 Posted April 19 If a crash report was produced then you can share that so someone can look at it – see linked thread below. Otherwise it’s often very difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose a problem with so little information, especially one which seems “random” without any known/predictable/repeatable/specific cause. Thank you, i found the crash dmp file, i thought it wouldn't save one since the app was just gone. Could someone look at it please? Thank you! 2870db3d-e60c-4b6f-a4f3-e1741082b3a5.dmp GarryP 1 Quote
Staff stokerg Posted April 30 Staff Posted April 30 Hi @Lionarith, The crash report isn't pointing to any specific causing the crash. Can you do a basic reset of Affinity and see if that improves things for you? To do this, start Affinity while holding down the CTRL key and you'll be shown a 'Clear User Data' and 3 options will be ticked and you can just click on Clear. Affinity will then load as normal. Now try using the app and see if you get another crash. Lionarith 1 Quote

I had a few crashes again and waited for the update, but it just happened again while closing one Affinity window while another was open. I will try your suggestion now. Quote

Stef71 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Here random crashes after installing 2.6.3 on Photo2, program just shuts down no fail report no safe, edits not safed are gone Quote
Lionarith Posted May 31 Author Posted May 31 Is there any update on random crashes? I also activated automatic upload of crash reports, you should have a bunch now. Designer crashes even shortly after opening the app without having any document open. Quote
Lionarith Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Fyi, I reinstalled version 2.6.0 for both Designer and Photo, and i had no crashes for days since then. Version 2.6.3 are unusable for me, both Designer and Photo suffer from frequent crashes out of nowhere. For now i cannot update, but i am glad i can use the prior versions with my files. Quote
Stef71 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I did the clear user data, cleaned up my pc removed cookies etc. and after restart it didn't happen again (fingers crossed) Quote
