Welcome to the forums @malcolmcrane33

The first thing you can try is to follow the instructions here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/99523-faq-the-apps-canvas-is-not-white-whats-happening/

If you can share the image file (ZIPped so we get the ‘real’ image) then we can see if we can open it.

Note 1: The V1 applications are no longer being supported/updated, so if the issue is really caused by a problem with the application then you might be out of luck.

Note 2: The machine configuration message in your screenshot seems a little odd to me. I don’t know why Windows 11 would be shown as having a version number of 10.something. Maybe Windows 11 came out after V1 was last updated and so the application can’t properly figure out what the OS version number is, or something like that.

@GarryP

FYI The output of Windows 11 (10.0.xxxxxx) is correct, as Windows 11 is based on the same system core as Windows 10, but with a higher sub-version number.

Ah, interesting, if a little confusing (to me at least).

Okay, thanks; that’s good to know. (Whether I will remember it or not is another matter.)

The same thing happened with Windows 7, which was actually the ‘friendly name’ for Windows 6.1. Vista was version 6.0 and XP was version 5.0.
