OlaM Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hello, I am using Affinity 2.0 Beta. I created a vector rectangle in Designer, then switched to pixel mode to apply raster texture to it with a brush. I chose the texture brush, and when I started to apply it to the rectangle, the Assistant created a pixel sub-layer under the vector rectangle. However, the brush doesn't make any marks. Can someone please tell me why? Thank you for any help. O. Quote
carl123 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Ideally, when you paint, we need to see a screenshot with the brush tool selected and the pixel layer selected in the Layers panel Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Hangman Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hi @OlaM and welcome to the forums, Pixel brushes require a pixel layer to paint on, so a pixel layer is automatically generated when you start painting with the paintbrush... The position of the pixel layer created when you start painting is determined by whether or not you have the vector layer selected in the Layers panel. If selected, the pixel layer is nested inside the vector layer, and the paint strokes will be clipped to the vector layer. If it's not selected, it appears above the vector layer, and the paint strokes won't be clipped to the vector layer... Based on your screengrab, it looks as though your brush colour is going to be the same as the rectangle colour. If that is the case, since the pixel layer is clipped to the rectangle, you won't see anything when painting because you are painting with the same colour. If you change the brush colour in the Colour panel to something else, you should see the brush strokes when painting... I attached a new screenshot, as I've tried it with the brush colour change you suggested. However, even with contrasting pink (brush) and yellow (vector) colours, still nothing shows up! Any other ideas? Still, nothing appears on the yellow vector when I use the paint brush tool. Quote
Old Bruce Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Do you have Protect Alpha on? Click the sideways Chevrons. OlaM Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 Hello Everyone, OP here..... I FIGURED IT OUT!!! I had been working out of the ARTBOARD that I created for my vector shape. When I moved the shape back in the artboard, it WORKS! I guess the space outside the artboards is dead space. Thank you SO MUCH for all of your quick help, I appreciate you all so much. @Hangman @carl123 @Old Bruce OlaM Hangman 1 Quote
