brucet Posted April 17 Posted April 17 AF2 2.6.2 on Mac OS 12.7.6 Monterey I have a jpg file of an outline map measuring 24" x 29" to be made into a jigsaw puzzle for my grandson. In order to print it I need to cut it up into 9 pieces each measuring 8" x 9 1/2" so they will fit on letter sized paper, and can be trimmed and glued to the wood before cutting. I successfully made nine 8" x 9.5" selections and using "Cmd + J", created a separate layer from each of them. Then I selected one layer at a time in the Channels Window to print, but AF2 only prints the center part of the 24 x 29 image, all other pages were blank. I tried selecting one layer at a time and copy/paste to a new 8 1/2 x 11 document, got nothing, even though the thumbnail of each layer is visible and correct. Oddly enough, I can copy and then paste each layer to a Pages word processing document page. So what am I missing? This process worked fine last year before I upgraded to AF2. Quote
NotMyFault Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Use the export Persona. There you can create slices from layers (one click for all), and export as seperate files (one click for all). then print the files individually Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. I’m unsure if this copies the selected part only, or the full layer. use „copy merged“ and paste instead to reliably duplicate only the selected part. There is AP (or AP2) or APh (or APh2) for Photo, or AD (or AD2) for Designer, or APu (APu2) or APub (or APub2) for Publisher, but AF (or AF2) doesn’t tell us which one you mean. For what little it’s worth, I read AF2 as ‘Affinity Foto 2’. However, APh is the least ambiguous way to abbreviate ‘Affinity Photo’. GarryP Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Thanks; I forgot about the APh abbreviation. I’ve edited my earlier response to include that. If anyone reading this is wondering why I’m being ‘picky’ it’s because it is easier for everyone to understand what is being talked about when we all use the same (official) abbreviations. Many users type AP for Affinity Publisher, blissfully unaware that if you hover over the underlined abbreviation in a desktop browser you’ll get a tooltip identifying the product as Photo. GarryP Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Yeah, I don’t know how many discussions I’ve seen (or been part of) which went something like this: A: I’m using AP but I can’t find this specific tool. B: Use menu “View → Customise Tools…” and then drag the tool to the Tools Panel. A: I tried that but I still can’t see the tool. B: It’s in the third row, second from the left and below this other tool. A: No I still can’t see it. B: Can you give us a screenshot so we can see what you can see? A: Here you go. B: You’re using Publisher (APu) not Photo (AP), and that tool isn’t available in Publisher. Quote

Perhaps you could attach a screenshot of your Print dialog so that we can see what settings you’re using. Meanwhile, one useful option is to export to PDF and then print from a PDF viewer.
