Fawlty Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Newbie here working through the learning curve. I'm going to have many, many images with captions in my book. I'd like to have a place to keep an empty image group along with dummy caption that i can quickly add to a page. I have not found such a thing yet but feel a snippet area or equivalent must exist. Thank you! Quote
Hangman Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Hi @Fawlty and welcome to the forums, You could perhaps add a default empty Picture Frame with a dummy Caption Group as an Asset in the Assets panel and then just drag the Asset to the page as and when required... Fawlty Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 Ah, Thank you. I had not seen mention of assets in tutorials yet and will take a look. I am assuming I can select an item and save it as an asset? Colin Quote
Hangman Posted April 16 Posted April 16 You can... Show the Assets panel from the Window menu Create an empty Picture frame, and add a dummy caption formatted as required Group the two layers together Drag the grouped objects from the Page to the Assets panel, or select the group on the page and choose 'Add from Selection' in the Assets panel Be mindful, however, that in Dark Mode you'll struggle to see the Asset in the Assets panel, though you can change the Asset panel background from the Asset panel hamburger menu to light or checkerboard or view the Assets as a list where you'll then see the Asset name...
