Hi there,

When I group layers, the brightness/saturation changes automatically.

Each layer had it's own brightness/saturation edits but on grouping they seem to have compounded. To counter this, I deleted all brightness/saturation edits in each layer and then grouped but the result was still the same. Screenshot 1 shows the vertical sections of the necklace before grouping. Screenshot 2 shows them after grouping.

Please could someone explain how to solve this issue?

Many thanks,

Gunter

The default layer blend mode for a group is ‘Passthrough’. Select the group in the Layers panel and change its blend mode to ‘Normal’.

Hi again Alfred,

Actually it doesn't seem to work.

I selected all the layers, selected group and then selected Normal but the vertical beads are still affected by brightness.

I must be doing something wrong?

From your screenshot I can see that the Brightness/Contrast Adjustment layer is above multiple pixel layers, so it will affect all of them. If you want to apply the adjustment to only one of them, you will have to nest it to the target layer.
