Gianni Becattini Posted April 16 Posted April 16 My Publisher sent me a message saying that in the produced file there is an extra color (see the photo below). I have no idea from where it may come. Have you please any suggestion? GeplakteAfbeelding-1.tiff Quote www.k100.biz

Happens quite often, that gnomes paid by Pantone sneak into your house at night and add some of their colours to boost their profits. No, seriously. If you did not add this colour by accident to your layout, I would assume it sneaked in with a placed PDF that contains this Pantone colour. I would check that first or ask your printer, where in your layout the Pantone colour shows up to help you track down this error. Whoever is thinking that unchecking "Honour spot colours" or checking "Convert image colour spaces" on export would cure the problem, is wrong. The spot colour is still preserved, which is a bug in my opinion. Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
Gianni Becattini Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 Thanks Joe. I don't have Acrobat, is there any way to see this problem without it? Quote www.k100.biz

So I would try to create an object, set its Fill and Stroke to this pantone color. Then I would use the Select, Select Same, Fill/Stroke Colour command, if an object with the same color cannot be found. joe_l Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Serif needs to implement a separation preview. Any other method is time consuming. A good starting point could be the Preflight panel. Check for elements outside the colour space of the document. A rectangle filled with a spot colour has no Fill Ink Density. Or program it that way, that spot colours are not honoured or indeed converted in the export dialogue, which is not the case with placed PDF. Gianni Becattini Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Thanks for the suggestions, thanks to them I could find the "offending color" and solve the problem. It was put there simply by mistake. I understand that this a matter much more complicate than a simple enthusiast like me could guess. joe_l 1 Quote www.k100.biz
