I am having a bit of an issue with Photo today. I had two crashes which is unusual. After restarting, I opened one of the files I was working in, only to find a few notifications. The first telling me this file was created in Affinity 1, which is certainly not the case, as I created that file within the past few days. The second stating that the file is corrupted.

Is there any method of salvaging a corrupted file that a mere mortal can undertake?

Working directly with files from a cloudstorage is always a bad idea. Save the file locally to your PC and load it from there.

Hi @gskidmark,

If you have Affinity Publisher, you can try starting a New Document and clicking Document>Add Pages From File and select your afphoto file and if Affinity can, it will add the contents of the file into Publisher.  You can then save it and open the afpub file in Affinity Photo and resave it as an afphoto file.

If you get an error when trying the Add Pages From File option then the file likely can't be recovered.
