As this is a beta release, it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that you may be adversely affected by the application failing. In addition it is worth noting that files created in Affinity 1.5 cannot be opened in 1.4, which means files created with the Windows beta cannot be opened in the Mac AppStore version of Designer, instead you will need the latest macOS beta.

Known Issues

• You will be unable to copy sub-selections of text (i.e. the 'ell' of 'hello'). Whole blocks of text are unaffected. This will be fixed in 1.5.0.9.

Seems to be something odd happening when selecting Pantone swatches:

 

Select a Pantone swatch that is a Global Colour - change my mind choose a different colour - decide I actually want to use the first colour I picked - but when I pick the colour it is no longer a Global colour and can't be edited

 

Is this how it should work?

 

edit to add - One of the serif videos mentioned that pantone colours are always Global colours but quite a few of the swatch pallets aren't -  so are some Glabal and other not? because that would be quite confusing after the serif video states that they all are.

I cannot install this version. It goes through the setup, then says the older version (1.5.0.7) could not be removed and to contact technical support.

Adam, I have not seen this problem with AD but it is not unknown for Windows to "throw a wobbly" when it attempts to uninstall almost any program!

 

The usual advice in such circumstances is to download and install the (free) http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html, run it and tell it you wish to specifically uninstall AD.  It's always advisable to check carefully what it is telling you it is going to remove, especially if you have other Serif programs on your computer.  As a matter of interest, the Pro version of Revo Uninstaller is well worth the cost of buying if you want to always ensure that any installed program is completely removed; it also offers a facility to monitor the installation of a program, thus making even "easier" any subsequently needed uninstallation.

Well, I ended up running regedit, searching for Affinity, and deleting [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\A3F452FAC88CD5E4D93D5F57A1F7944F] and all of its subkeys (though I exported it to a .reg file first, just in case that wouldn’t help). And, bingo, 1.5.0.8 now installed without a glitch!

Yes, of course!  I have the Pro version and it does operate on 32 and 64 bit programs.  Sorry for the misinformation but I'm glad you were able to resolve your problem.

You actually did help. It was when I was watching the uninstaller loading the information about the installed 32-bit software from the registry that the idea of searching the registry myself occurred to me.

 

Anyway, I don’t know if it can help Affinity programmers figure out why I was getting those messages (and why perhaps someone else may in the future), but I changed the extension of the .reg file I exported from my registry before deleting the problem key to .reg.txt and am attaching it here.

Quick question that doesn't deserve a new thread: This thread says Photoshop-style modifier dragging to change brush size and hardness is implemented, but I can't get it to work. Is this not implemented in the current build?

Hi, I'm not sure where else to post this, but I am taking myself out of the windows beta. I am in way over my head. I'm used to Serif Craft Artist2 and am a digital scrapbooking hobbist, not a graphics designer. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to help. I will erase my copy of the program. Thank you anyway. It looks like everyone loves the program, and I love CA2, so best of luck!!

There are two option buttons, OK an Download.

Could you post a document that is printing out the wrong size? It might just help us track down the problem as we are unable to reproduce it here at the moment.
