A Lara Posted April 14 Posted April 14 There are some pages that I am unable to delete. I select them, press the dustbin icon (or the right click option) and at first they seem to be gone. The interface even starts to recalculate page numbers, but after one or two seconds the pages appear again, and it recalculate again the numbers. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I do not see anything in the manual. Another pages act normal, and let me delete them, but this specific ones do not. I tried to look for similar problem threads but I didn't find any. I read something about locked items but I cannot find how to unlock. Quote
MikeTO Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Hi, could you please share a screen recording of the issue happening? I'm finding it hard to understand the issue because if you click a page in the Pages panel and then click the Delete icon, it will be deleted. The only thing I can think of is that you have linked a text frame on the deleted page to a frame on the next page, so while the page was deleted, no text was actually deleted. A Lara Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Thank you for your interest. I attach a screen recording. You will watch how I try to delete pages 2-3, pressing the dust bin icon, but almost instantly they reappear while the program recalculates the numbers. Then, in the same video, I try again, this time right clicking, with the same result. In these pages there is no linked text. I am willing to try anything. unable to delete pages.mov Quote
MikeTO Posted April 15 Posted April 15 The screen recording appears to show what I suggested. Look at the page controls in the bottom left corner. Before you delete the pages there are 48 pages. After deleting the spread there are 46. After deleting the spread again there are 44. What is happening is that you have linked text frames and deleting the spread just deletes it without deleting any text. The text is linked from the page before the spread you are deleting to the spread after, so you're simply removing a spread from the linked series. The story's text may now be overflowing the last frame. A Lara Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 Bingo. You were right. As there was a blank page between the one I was trying to delete and the rest of the text flow I would have sworn they were independent, but when you pointed where and what to look, it was clear. Thank you very much for your help. Oufti and MikeTO 2 Quote
