I made a symbol in designer to create mendalas, but it didn't save. Do I have to create the symbol each time? What am I doing wrong?

Symbols are saved & stored on a per-document basis, so you cannot save them to use in other documents, if that is what you mean.

That needs to be part of an upgrade. It'd save time.

But consider that if a symbol created in one document was edited & somehow could be saved for use in others, each time the others were opened, would you want that edit to be applied to any others that also used it?

@dmont76

You could save the object, you use as symbol, in an asset. And use it later back as a symbol.
