I ran into an ongoing problem this week that I cannot find a solution to. I rarely work in hires print files so this is not something I'd come across regularly but this week it became an issue.

A couple of times Photo came to a grinding halt trying to run a process, so I had to force quit and lose a little bit of work (more on this later). Each time it turns out my System drive was down to 60MB of available space. Having dug around I found massive temp files and saved backups (among other storage hogging junk). After a good clear out I was able to continue (until it happened again).

So now I have to keep a Finder window open to keep an eye on available space. Annoying.

So.

In the other photo style program from the other unnameable A company, you would be able to set a scratch disc location. This would be most preferable as I keep a lean System drive but have masses of project and cache drive space. I would not run into the problem if I was able to write temp files to those places.
