"Shift+Return" for soft line break not working? Aff. Publ. iPad

Hello, I'm new to Affinity Publisher on the iPad and coming from InDesign.
My native language is German, so I hope you can understand my English.

In InDesign, I'm used to inserting a soft line break in body text using the shortcut Shift + Return, and starting a new paragraph with just Return.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work in Affinity Publisher. When I press either Shift + Return or just Return in body text, it always creates a new paragraph.

How can I insert a soft line break?
I’ve tried both an external keyboard and the iPad’s on-screen keyboard — neither worked.

On the internet, I only find information saying that the shortcut Shift + Return should work...
I am using APub. 2.6.2 and iOS 18.4 on iPad 9

PS. i installed the desktop testversion on my mac and  Shift+return is working there as expected…
but not on iPad

Welcome to the Affinity forums, @SD1966.

Unfortunately, shift+Return is broken in the iPad Affinity apps and won't work. This is logged as bug AF-5351.

There are a couple of workarounds mentioned in these threads until this issue is fixed:

Given the pile of unresolved issues and unfixed bugs that have accumulated over the years, you definitely shouldn't hold your breath on this one…
