BarbaraMaria Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I don't know exactly how this happened, but my one master page in publisher has multiplied in every single document... Could you tell me how this could possibly have happened? Now I have more than 20 identical master pages in my book documents. Is it possible to delete more than one master page at once and how? If I have to delete always one at a time, it will take me ages to get rid of all these... Quote
MikeTO Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hi @BarbaraMaria and welcome to the forums. If you make a single change to a master page in a Chapter that is part of a Book and then sync changes to the other Chapters, the modified master will be duplicated into each chapter. Publisher doesn't sync master pages but duplicates them. There is not an automatic way to clean this up so you'll need to replicate the master page changes manually and delete the redundant masters. It is very important to finalize all of your master pages and text styles before creating multiple chapters. I've included a section on this topic in my free Publisher manual which you can download from this forum. BarbaraMaria Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Thanks Mike. This is probably what happened. Synchronized a lot. I should have known before... Not particularly useful that they duplicate. Does not make much sense to me. Somehow makes the synchronize function pointless. I used to work with InDesign and there never was a problem like this. O.k. much work waiting now to get rid of this... Quote
