mrqasq Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hi, I'm not sure if this is inteded, but I have just experienced strange behoviur of Inpain option in Edit menu, while using Pen Tool for creating selection. I wanted to have selected area with straight lines on sides, so I decided to use Pen Tool, instead of other marquing tools : But to my surprise, when using Pen Tool, and converting shape to selection with button: Than from the Edit menu, Inpaint - option is greyed out, and isn't accessible to execute : Below is video showing this bug. Tell me it's by design, or am I missing something here Thanks! Quote
PaulEC Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Try changing the tool from the Pen Tool to the Move Tool before applying Inpainting. mrqasq Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 It works! But how did you manage to find it, and is it a workaround, or a rule to follow? Quote
PaulEC Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I've noticed in the past that some things only work when you have a particular tool selected, but I have no idea why it's designed like this: I can't really see why some functions, such as Inpainting, should depend on what tool you have selected at the time! mrqasq Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Ok, than I would insist on calling it a bug for now Quote

I don't think that this is a bug (i.e. it doesn't cause a crash, loss of work etc, and it works as intended), but it is something that could probably be improved in functionality. Staff stokerg Posted April 24 Staff Posted April 24 Hi @mrqasq, Thanks for reporting this. I've logged this as a bug, as i'd expect this to be the same between operating systems. Quote
