Elisheba Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hi Guys, Many elements within the design disappeared after exporting to a TIFF and PSD file. Then I tried rasterising individual layers and the layer became empty. When I open the Affinity file, It is all good but when I export, it disappeares and i get white pixel-like boxes once exported. Please help me as soon as possible. Specs: Mac Os 15.4 Affinity Designer 2.6.2 Quote
Hangman Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hi @Elisheba, Does turning off hardware acceleration under the Affinity Designer Performance Preferences (in the Settings menu) and then re-exporting rectify the issue? Note: This will require a reboot of Designer... If it doesn't, could you upload your file so we can take a look at what is causing the problem? Elisheba Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 @Hangman I tried what you suggested but it didn’t work. Can you please send me a dropbox link to upload my file. Quote
Hangman Posted April 7 Posted April 7 @Elisheba, if it's a file you're not able to upload to the forum, then someone at Serif will need to provide a private Dropbox link so you can upload your file and they can take a look... If you are happy to upload to the forum, you can attach the file in your reply to the thread, and then forum users can take a look to try and determine the cause of the problem. If it's not a hardware-accleration issue, it's possible there is some element of file corruption, but without the file, it's going to be difficult to determine. Elisheba Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 @Hangman This is being done for a client and I don’t think I am allowed to share the file online. A private Dropbox link would be better. Hangman 1 Quote
Hangman Posted April 7 Posted April 7 @Elisheba Thanks for confirming... Someone from the Serif moderation team should pick up this thread and will be able to provide a private Dropbox link for you so you can upload your file... Staff NathanC Posted April 10 Staff Posted April 10 Hi @Elisheba, The described conditions of pixel layer corruption on export and rasterisation is indicative of corrupted pixel content within the files unfortunately. Under the circumstances I can't guarantee the affected layers can be recovered, but we can investigate further and explore possible solutions, feel free to upload to the private upload link below. https://www.dropbox.com/request/vfLlEQ4vRR27PE1qyv8s Quote
Elisheba Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Hi @NathanC Thank you so much for helping! I have uploaded my file using the Dropbox link. In addition to the problem mentioned above, the colours in the mini-circle illustrations are also not accurate after exporting. Some are lighter in colour, while others are darker. Please look into that, too. Hoping to get a solution as soon as possible. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted April 11 Staff Posted April 11 Many thanks for sending the document, Unfortunately, it appears that a large majority of the pixel content within the ‘Center Illo’ group has corrupted and can’t be recovered, the Scope of these corrupted layers becomes more apparent when zooming further into the canvas, interacting with these layers or exporting, these elements will change to either singular pixel blocks, or disappear entirely. I’ve PM’d you a copy of your file with these corrupted elements tagged in Red in the layers panel, but I can only suggest deleting and re-creating/placing these elements back into their positions if you don't have a backup file available. While really not ideal, the alternative is to screenshot the file in the app at a low zoom %, but this would evidently lose the fidelity and quality of the design. If the file was stored on an external storage medium (Cloud, External Drive, Network Drive) we do generally suggest saving locally, as doing so often reduces the chances of file corruption, and also saving regular backups. With regard to the mini-circle illustrations, this is likely related to the fact that the document is set to CMYK/8, but these are sRGB Image layers. You could try rasterising these image layers, or if you’re exporting to PDF use the ‘Convert Image Colour Spaces’ option under ‘Advanced’ so these are converted to CMYK in the PDF output. Elisheba Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 @NathanC Fortunately, I had a backup file and re-placed the elements back into their positions as suggested. It exported fine after that! Regarding the mini-circle illustrations, they were created in CMYK, but I rasterised them, thinking it would solve the colour problem mentioned earlier. Hence the sRGB Image layers, I guess. Now that I had re-placed the elements, it exported fine. Thank you so much for all your help! Quote
