PeeGeeBee Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I'm having the persistent issue whereby Affinity Publisher gets stuck loading a project and never opens. I've tried resetting User prefs etc but nothing works. So, before deleting and reinstalling the whole application (I have a deadline), I'm checking everything in settings. And I see that, while the license is fully operational, I'm not signed in under my Affinity ID. But where do I find that. Loggin in here to the site, I see no reference to it. Nor can I find one in my password manager or previous emails. Any ideas, anyone? thanks Quote
Alfred Posted April 7 Posted April 7 You will only have an Affinity ID if you have an Affinity Store account, which you may not have if you purchased the app through the Mac App Store and you’ve never bought any official add-ons. Your forum account is completely separate. PeeGeeBee Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Thanks. I've purchased direct from Affinity. But I don't see an Account ID as such anywhere. Any idea where I might find it? Quote
Alfred Posted April 7 Posted April 7 As far as I’m aware, your Affinity ID is the email address associated with your account. Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
PeeGeeBee Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Thanks. You're absolutely right. I hadn't realised I'd updated my password at some stage. At least now I can see I'm properly logged in so that was not the cause of the other issue. A process of gradual elimination! I'll get there eventually. Thanks again. Alfred 1 Quote
OliverDeer Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) I'm having similar login problems. I got signed out of designer, couldn't remember my login. Reset my password. Someone on the forum said the ID is the e-mail you used to buy the program. Put that in and my new password. No dice. I keep getting an error message that says "The Affinity ID or Password was not recognized". Edited April 12 by OliverDeer further detailed the problem im having Quote

If that involved email, make sure you're logging-in using the same email you used for the reset operation. Next, make sure you're entering the password yourself, not depending on some password management application. If that doesn't help, I think you'll need to write to Serif for assistance so you can discuss it with them privately to facilitate the sharing of sensitive information such as your email address. I would try affinitysupport@serif.com and give them the email address you're trying to use, and your forum email address if it's different. Thank you so much for seeing my issue and reaching out, Walt! One of the many reasons why I prefer Affinity over other digital art programs is how much the folks working on it care about the program functioning well for its users. Each and every one of y'all do incredible work! Seeing your reply gave me genuine warm fuzzies, simply because I'm used to being hung out to dry by Design Software companies. Inside of Affinity Designer, I clicked "Forgot your password?" Clicked the link in the "Reset Affinity password" e-mail and received the confirmation "Password updated" e-mail. I am not using a password management program at this time. When using the same e-mail to log in, "The Affinity ID or Password was not recognized" pops up. Strangely enough, I am able to use the program as though I were logged in. I am able to make new documents and open existing ones just fine. I was able to use the software because a free trial period was active. I am now unable to use it. I'll shoot a message to affinitysupport@serif.com later today with the necessary information. Thank you for your time, Walt! Edited April 13 by OliverDeer See strikethrough Quote
