Hello.
I have lots of texts in excel and need to data merge for stickers. The text in excel is formated but when use data merge the formating is not copied.

Is there any way to copy it with formating?

Apply some kind of tagging within Excel, then use Regex expressions in Publisher after Merge, and apply formatting searching the tags and applying formatting using  character and paragraphs styles, then finally remove the tags.

E.g. something like:

Scripting (or macros, or even just ability so save expressions) would of course be helpful...

There is no sense on doing this. Would be faster to change it manualy in publisher.

The problem solved, then ;-)

I myself produce this way highly complex catalogues from online databases with custom tagging and local formatting in place, but the crucial thing here is careful preparation, and using scripts (so a different page layout app, in the first place).

I would examine a possibility to perform Merge within Word using styles. It might be able to process Excel formatted data and then provide a means to get it for final layout in Publisher.

(UPDATE: Converting formatting to formatting and/or style name tags using Excel macros might be a viable solution, but also requires some careful preparation so useful only if you have repetitively these kinds of tasks.)
