Ron P. Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I guess the latest update 2.6.2.3228 Serif added a totally ridiculous prompt to the Refine Selection. After completing the selection refinement, I click on one of the options in the drop-down, like New Layer, or New Layer with Mask. I then click on Apply. <--That tells me that the selection will be applied, so I'm aware of that. What happens next, a prompt dialog pops up, asking me if I want to apply it. Really? So why don't they have another prompt after I click on Yes, to ask if I'm sure I want to? This prompt does not function correctly. I get what I want regardless of pressing yes or no. Does not happen in AD. Apply Prompt.mp4 Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions. carl123 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Not getting that extra prompt here I wonder, could it be a setting somewhere affecting this? jmwellborn Posted April 7 Posted April 7 @Ron P. and @carl123 I used 2.6.2.3228 Beta to try this. I am not getting that extra prompt here either, and I am on MAC. I tried with the Selection Brush Tool, with the Object Selection Tool and with SELECT>Select Subject. With each process I tested both "New Layer" and "New Layer with Mask" as my selection choice. I then went back to 2.6.0 and tried everything again. Same result. One click on Apply and the selection layer pops up on the Layers Panel. Do you suppose a CTRL + Open on Photo might solve this? Just a thought. Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage, Ventura 13.7.6. Photo, Publisher, Designer 1.10.5, and 2.6. I have no idea. I had went through every single setting I could find in the app. I could find nothing that would have caused that pop-up prompt. I had also tried with the Beta version, and it did not have this problem. What I absolutely despise with doing a Control Run Up, it resets my Tools. Thankfully using the Beta version, I manually redone my tools. I thought one of the app files, .propcol or xml held the customization we do. Tried copying from the Beta but to no avail. jmwellborn 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions. jmwellborn Posted April 8 Posted April 8 @Ron P. I am so glad it worked! When I do a CTRL + Open, I always uncheck everything and press Clear, to see whether I can’t sort out whatever the issue is without changing anything I have previously organized (tools, toolbar, etc.). It almost always solves the glitch. If that doesn’t work, as a last resort I grit my teeth and leave the top three checkmarks on.
