I cannot get my text panel to display in Publisher 2 on a Mac with Sonoma 14.6.1. It was showing, then suddenly it wasn't and selecting the panel in the Window menu does nothing. Luckily I can still access the toolbar at the top of the window to adjust type, but this is not ideal.

Hi @Colin Murdoch and welcome to the forums,

Assuming you don't have a second monitor attached, try WindowStudioReset Studio.

If that doesn't work, quit Publisher and relaunch while holding the Ctrl key until you see the Clear User Data window. Untick the first option, leaving the second and third options selected and then click the Clear button. Let Publisher finish launching and then see whether the Character and Paragraph panels are shown...

Let us know whether or not that fixes the issue...

I also cannot apply a text style, by selecting a paragraph and selecting 'create style', in the hope that I could match an existing font/paragraph style and apply it quickly to another paragraph. Maybe these type issues are related somehow?

That did fix it, I can see the text panels now. Thanks! I'll see if I have any luck with the text styles. I have a project, which is actually a series of packages which always have the same text on the back cover so it would be great to have the fonts set once.

Select text in the paragraph that already uses the formatting you want to use for any other paragraphs and then click the Create Paragraph Style icon at the bottom left of the Text Styles panel or via TextText Styles → Create Paragraph Style. That will add a new Paragraph style to the Text Styles Panel, which you can give an appropriate name.

Then select the paragraph you wish to apply the newly created Test Style to and select the newly created Text Style in the Text Styles panel lto apply it...

It definitely doesn't populate the selected text information into a new text style...so it seems I would have to set that manually. For now I can just set the text manually, but maybe that's a bug of some type. The other issue is fixed though, which really helps.

It should do...

No, mine just shows a bunch of 'Style' options...or filled in with Style. I'll attach a screenshot.

That's because you've selected Character Style instead of Paragraph Style... Try it with a Paragraph style, and it should give you what you need...
