FWIW, in the Mac versions "Check for Updates" appears in the application name menu item (like "Affinity Designer" for AD). But that is only for versions that were bought via the Serif Store. The options for updating apps coming from the Apple Store are set via Settings > Software Update as discussed in https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/software-update-settings-on-mac-mchla7037245/mac Hence the reasons for what @walt.farrell asked.
