APub - clear overrides but not character style

is there an option in affinity publisher to clear overrides but not clear character style formatting? If I click on a paragraph style with alt the character styles are also cleared…

If you right-click on a text style name in the Text Styles panel you should get several different options for applying/clearing things. Perhaps one of them will provide what you want?

I might have misunderstood your goal, but e.g. the following would search for italic text that does not have character style applied on it, and would remove italic attribute, but would retain italic in those parts of the text where this is achieved by using a character style:

A little.  I'd like to clear formatting overrides fast and quickly without necessity to naviagate on left-click menu on every paragraph...

But better than nothing...

it is not so easy if you want clean different (sometimes even unknown) types of overrides
