vivala Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Hi All Find and replace URLs would be very very very useful!!! Thanks for paying attention, have a nice day Folks!!! Paolo Quote
Pšenda Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Regular expression "(?:(?:https?|ftp):\/\/)?[\w/\-?=%.]+\.[\w/\-&?=%.]+" works fine: It's a shame that you can't save search parameters to your own presets. vivala Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Dear Genius user Pšenda, Thank you very much for the Lightning fast response Please consider that you are talking with a marvellous dumb one. Maybe I wasn't specific enough with my request. I need to find and replace, for example, button assigned hypertext links urls like "mailto:info@thisplace.org?body=Salve, desidero maggiori informazioni riguardo This place." or "https://wa.me/+39123456789?text=Salve, desidero maggiori informazioni riguardo This place." This because I have to replace the Italian phrases with the English translation. If you think your method applies to my case, please give me if you can more detailed instructions, thank you Sir! Have a nice day Pšenda. Best regards, Paolo Quote

In this case, isn't it enough to search for the phrase "Salve, desidero maggiori informazioni riguardo This place." and replace it with the appropriate english text? Whether it's part of a button or a URL link is probably not crucial in this case. Can you provide a sample .afpub file where you're having a problem, so we can see it ourselves? vivala Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Dear Sir Farrell, Many thanks for your kind interest. As requested, I’ve attached the .afpub file. I hope I’ve been clearer this time. Have a nice day, Best regards! Paolo Example for URL search and replace.afpub walt.farrell 1 Quote

You're right that Find and Replace only works for Text objects (Frame Text or Artistic Text). To change non-text Hyperlinks today you need to use the Hyperlinks panel, and make the changes manually one-by-one. A more-automated way of handling that would be useful. vivala Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Search and replace non-text hyperlinks – thank you, Sir Farrell! In the case of large projects, manually changing hyperlinks can become a real problem. Should I report this request elsewhere to encourage Affinity to implement this feature in future releases? One more consideration: unlike Publisher, InDesign doesn't handle non-text hyperlinks in the Data Merge task, except with a plugin that runs only on Mac. Adding more flexibility to Affinity Publisher in handling non-text hyperlinks could become a strong advantage for Publisher in digital content creation. For those interested, it's possible to perform search and replace for non-text hyperlinks by working on the exported PDF using the AutoBookmark™ Plug-in for Adobe® Acrobat®: https://evermap.com/Tutorial_ABM_SearchNReplaceLinkAction.asp You can set up a plain text document and perform all search-and-replace operations in a single step. Obviously, the drawback of using a plugin instead of doing the operation directly within Publisher is that you have to "go back" to the .afpub file and then use the plugin again Thanks for paying attention, have a nice day, best regards Paolo walt.farrell 1 Quote
