Hello,
I would like to report a bug that I already reported about two years ago, but which hasn't been fixed.

Please, look the Video:

As you can see, the lag affects the Text Alignment but not the Text Justification. The only way to stop it is to restart the apps. It affects the whole Suite. In particular way, working with Publisher is a total nightmare. Enabling or disabling hardware acceleration makes no difference.

How to replicate it:
Use the Move Tool to quickly select/deselect the text layers with different alignment. Try it for at least 15 minutes. You should start to notice the lag. So continue. If you don't have enough time, please don't close the program. Then, pick up where you left off. The more time passes, the more the lag increases.

Thanks for your attention.

As in the past, I noticed that it depends on the number of selections and deselections. However, it's not a chronology issue. In settings, moving the pointer to the left makes no difference. Basically, a text layer is enough to get it started. All you have to do is pass a certain number of selections and deselections of that layer. Then, try to change the alignment or add a text layer with a different alignment. Maybe you'll start to notice the lag. I personally noticed this bug after about two hundred and fifty deselections. I work quite quickly with a lot of text layers, so fifteen minutes is enough to notice it in my case. But restarting the apps every fifteen minutes can't be a solution for me. I don't find it acceptable.

Maybe it's the same bug that hit curves and much more in the past. Bug reported by many users. Bug that I also reported, providing a lot of information. Bug that seemed to be fixed. What makes me angry is that after two years I haven't received any more response by you, Staff. I reported it again three weeks ago and still haven't received a response. It wasn't even considered.

Now, can this bug be reported to the developers?

I will continue to write on this topic until I get a response. I will also report the bug in every new beta release.

I can't go on like this.

Well. In the next step, I will explain you better how to reproduce the bug. Ten minutes should be enough.

> Create a new document > Create a new text layer > Selecting and deselecting the text layer at least two hundred and fifty times > Now, add a text layer with a different alignment > Jump from one layer to another as fast as you can

It seems like a lot, but you can do it in five minutes. It's up to you. Instead, in the next video I selected and deselected a text layer five hundred times (in this case I added another text layer with different alignment first to show you how there is no lag at startup). I did it slowly, in about nine and a half minutes, because I started counting. In a real work situation with many text layers, I can reach this number in about half an hour. This is the result:

Notice: it doesn't depend on how long the app has been running. It depends on the number of selections and deselections. So, closing and reopening the documents is useless. Create a new document is also useless. The only way to stop the bug is to restart the app. So, If you want to see the lag increase even more, then don't close the app and keep clicking. The more the number of selections and deselections increases, the more the lag increases.

But maybe there's no need to explain it, because it's likely the same bug that previously also affected curves and much more. Do you remember? Well, it behaves the same way. Many people noticed it using Designer, because they were selecting and deselecting many curve and shape layers. After about half an hour most users ran into the bug.

Do you think I'm raving? Well. Now you can try to replicate it.

Hi @ℓurié sincere apologies for the delayed response,

I can confirm following a prolonged session of selecting and de-selecting an aligned text frame, switching to a differently aligned text frame started to lag the selection and became progressively worse with additional selections. I've therefore logged this internally with the developers for further investigation and resolution.

Hello @NathanC,

many thanks for your time. I'm sorry if I'm harsh sometimes, but the first time I reported it was two years ago and I got no response, and unfortunately this is a critical bug for my workflow. I'm glad to hear you were able to reproduce it.

Thanks a lot again for your support.
