Bebe Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Hi together, I have a problem regarding the expand-path-tool. Instead of converting my path which has a different width on the start than on the end properly, I get an ugly form out of it (see screenshot). I switched from Illustrator a couple of weeks ago and this has never happened to me before. Is there any way to get this right? Thanks for your help in advance! Quote
Old Bruce Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Off the top of my head I would guess the stroke is quite small (a point or less in width). Try making the whole thing much larger (the good part about working with vectors) and then do the expand stroke. Komatös Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Hello @Bebe and welcome to the forums. Or create the saddle as a shape instead of a expanded stroke. (Or, in my case, ignoring all app updates until this programming disaster has been fixed… ) For example, previous versions of Designer for Mac can be downloaded here: https://store.serif.com/update/macos/designer/2 For Publisher, Photo, or for Windows versions simply change the corresponding URL path. Note, however, that any documents created with a newer Affinity version cannot be opened with v2.4.2. Most of the standard document content can be copied via pasteboard between versions though, as long as the older version already supports the same functionality. For that reason I'm also keeping the latest beta versions which are usually identical to the current public release. Any registered Affinity user can join the beta program: Quote MacBookAir 15": MacOS Sonoma > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 18 > Affinity v2

By doubling the size the result was just a little bit better. I actually had to upscale it tremendously, but now it works. And also thanks to the other replies. I read about downgrading the version before. Fortunately it worked without downgrading. Creating the saddle as a shape would have worked as well I guess, but you get crazy if it's more than one stroke. Old Bruce 1 Quote
