Hi @Alejandro94 and welcome to the forums,

Can you confirm whether the file you're trying to open is on your internal Hard drive or a Cloud Drive and whether the file includes any linked graphics and, if so, where they are located?

Hi, I hadn't seen your response. The file is on my hard drive, but it's also part of the iCloud backup folders on my Mac. My free trial of this software just ended. But I'm hesitant to purchase the license, since this happened to me with three files. Thank you so much for your response.

Hi @Alejandro94,

This sounds very much like an iCloud syncing issue... The recommendation is to keep all files on your internal Hard Drive...

I appreciate that your free trial has just ended, but if you're happy to upload the files in question, we can take a look to see whether we have any issues opening them, to at least reassure you that the files themselves are okay.

Hi @Alejandro94,

If I can open your file, it would very much suggest a syncing issue because I don't have iCloud sync enabled for the Affinity Apps...

Does the file include any linked graphics?

Do you think if I disable synchronization I can open the file?

Rather than turning off iCloud syncing, you could move the file to somewhere on your internal drive that is not synced. For example, create a folder at the root of "Macintosh HD" named Affinity or whatever you like and store the document there.

Quite possibly, though you mentioned your free trial has ended, so I didn't think you'd be able to test it...

You can disable iCloud syncing for the Affinity apps by going to SettingsPrivacy & SecurityFiles and Folders and then toggling iCloud Drive off for the respective apps. I was really just suggesting we could check your file opens without syncing enabled to ensure there isn't an issue with the file itself, if that helps you in any way...

The program remains with the message - loading file. nothing more

Would you be happy to upload the file or send via a DM so we can take a look?

I moved two files to a USB drive that doesn't have an iCloud backup, but I can't open them either. However, it doesn't give the access denied error.

Those can have the same issue as iCloud. Serif recommends saving to a folder on your internal drive that is not synced elsewhere.

I'm able to open your document without any issues in 2.6.2 so you should be able to open it if you move it to such a folder.

2.6.2 is the version I'm also using. It's good to know the file works. I'll see how to open it here, since I've moved it, but still nothing. I'll restart my laptop. Thank you so much 🙏

Yes please, it's very simple, just an image with some text.

Likewise, your file opens without issue here as well... I've re-saved it, let us know whether you see the same issue when opening the attached version...

When I downloaded the attached version you sent me, I was able to see the thumbnail image of the file icon, but it still won't open in the program. I'm going to create a folder for these files where they won't sync and restart the laptop. I'll let you know when I resolve it. Thank you very much. I know the problem isn't the file. Blessings.

I just logged into iCloud Drive to uncheck the folder where I save my files, and I found that the Affinity app is also backed up. I unchecked it, and without even unchecking the folder, it already worked for me!!! It's actually something with iCloud syncing. I'll also uncheck the folder just in case. Thank you so much, friends. Have a nice day! 👍
