It would be nice if custom page numbering exported to PDF

This was mentioned a while ago but I can't find a recent thread about it:

If you customise your system of page numbering through the section manager, your chosen page numbers don't get included in a PDF file export in a way that PDF readers actually understand and respect. You always just end up with 1-X.

Instead, third-party tools are required to make the PDF's internal representation match your preferred page numbering.

I'd love if this feature could be added, because I regularly have to reconcile print editions with PDF editions where I'd like the book cover to appear as the first page of the PDF without throwing off the page numbering.
