I am using Affinity 2.6.2 on Windows 11.  I was working on a project that was working fine yesterday.  I updated Affinity, and now the special effects on the layers tab will not work.  I can't get any of the checkmarks to stay put. It will bring up the dialog box (i.e., Color Overlay).  Any colors I create will immediately go back to black. This was a quick throw together project.  I'll  let you know if a bigger project I'm working on does the same

I’m having difficulty in understanding what the problem is.

If it happens again, if you can record and share a full-screen (whole application UI) video – or give us a set of full-screen screenshots – then we will be able to see what you can see and (hopefully) be able to help your further.

The more details you can give the better we can help.

If I recall correctly this occurs when you have an Embedded Affinity document inside your main document and then open that (embedded) document and try to adjust the FX properties inside that document

The workaround (for now) is to change it from Embedded to Linked
