Before I go insane, is there anyone here who can show me how to permanently move the perspective tool panel to always appear where I want it to be instead of directly over the work area where it has to be dragged away in order to use! For EVERY photo.

I have tried creating a preset. Doesn't work. The panel does not stay open.

I have tried attaching the panel to the right side panel area (I am right handed). It won't.

Is there a solution, or do I just go ahead and shoot myself?

When the use the perspective tool try moving the dialogue box to where you want it, then close and reopen it. It should now open in the same place you just dragged it to. This will work until you close the program, when you reopen it you will have to do the same thing again. That's as good as it gets.

As far as I'm aware there is no such setting which relates to where dialogue boxes open.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.

Hi -  Thanks so much. That would have been great, but it doesn't work. I move the panel, close it and reopen and it just goes back to the 'default' area - which is right in the way. I miss Adobe Bridge!

I’ve had a similar problem for years where the non-modal dialogs have a habit of sometimes opening on a different screen.

Even after moving them back to the screen I want to use them on they reappear on the other screen after I close and re-open them.

This seems to happen ‘randomly’ and I’ve not found any way to fix it.

See, for example: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/193910-affinity-photo-221-exiting-a-pop-up-dialogue-box-for-a-filter-can-make-future-ones-appear-on-wrong-screen/

How odd! Moving the panel and having it stay where I put it has always worked for me.

It's an Affinity mystery.

Hi @clownfish,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
It should stay where you place it and it's working as expected here (macOS). What OS are you running?
If you perform a basic reset (press and hold ctrl while launching the app, keep the default three first options checked in the panel that will appear and press Clear) does it fix the issue?
